A Special Visit from Janis Winehouse

17 July 2025

We were absolutely delighted to welcome Janis Winehouse, mother of the late and much-loved Amy Winehouse, to the Centre recently.

Janis joined us for two music therapy sessions, led by our talented Music Therapist, Jess. Accompanied by her wonderful carer, Sasha, Janis spent time in our officially named Amy Winehouse Music Therapy Room, where she saw first-hand the powerful impact music has on the children we support.

It is always a pleasure to host Janis, and the Amy Winehouse Foundation generously funds our music therapy programme here at CPotential. Having her see the sessions in action and witness the joy and engagement of the children is incredibly special for everyone involved.

Janis and Sasha thoroughly enjoyed watching the children connect through music, and they spent time chatting warmly with families, who were equally delighted by their visit. The room was filled with plenty of smiles and a shared appreciation for the therapeutic power of music.

It was a truly memorable and touching tribute to Amy’s legacy, and a beautiful reminder of how music can heal, uplift, and connect us all.

We are so grateful to Janis, Sasha, and the Amy Winehouse Foundation for their continued support and for helping to make these vital music therapy sessions possible.
