Jonathan Foster

Jonathan Foster and previous captains

We’re delighted to announce that CPotential is the Charity of the Year at Enfield Golf Club.

Jonathan Foster, this year’s Captain of the Club, (above centre) has kindly chosen us as his nominated charity.

He says: “I heard about CPotential through a friend. I’m really keen to support this local charity, which does such marvellous work with disabled children. And I’m going to organize lots of fundraising opportunities for my fellow golfers to help me.”

He’s got the partnership off to a fantastic start with his first event for us, the ‘Captain’s Drive In’.

Nothing to do with 1950s movies but a fun tradition at golf clubs to welcome in the new Captain on the first tee of the golf course – and raise funds for charity in the process. Jonathan’s Drive In at Enfield last weekend raised over £1,500 for CPotential services.

Jo Honigmann, our CEO, says: “Many thanks to Jonathan and the Club. I wish them a highly successful year full of eagles, birdies and soaring fundraising!”

Don your best top hat or bonnet for a jolly evening of ye olde merrymaking and fundraising in aid of CPotential on Wednesday 27 February 2019.

Master John Martin (our ex-Chair of Trustees) invites you to take part in the Swearing on the Horns, an ancient and unusual Highgate tradition.

For a very modest ‘initiation fee’ (donation), you can partake in the ceremony, which involves making an historic – not altogether binding – oath on the Horns. This then entitles you to various quaint privileges and a wonderful certificate showing you are now a ‘Freeman of Highgate’.

John says: “I won’t reveal more now – other than you won’t have seen anything like it, it’s great fun and all for a fantastic cause.”

There’ll also be a raffle and other Victorian-themed frolics all in the warm historic ambience of The Wrestlers Pub, 98 North Road, London N6 4AA.

Jingle bells all the way to Woodstar School

Members of the N10 Choir at CPotential

Members of the N10 Choir at CPotentialThank you so much to our friends from the N10 Community Choir, who came to sing for our Woodstar School pupils today.

Led by musical director Lazina Gheyselinck, the choir comprises local people of mixed ages, backgrounds and nationalities.

Their repertoire includes everything from The Sound of Music to Schubert, My Fair Lady to Mozart. They perform locally but also further afield, most recently, at festivals in Rome and Portugal.

Today, they sang rousing versions of lots of Christmas favourites.  As you can see, the children all enjoyed joining in as part of our pre-Christmas festivities.

All you need is love – and stuff
