Two wheels, one big mission!

On 11th July, CPotential Trustee Kevin Clark will be taking on the iconic London to Brighton cycle ride to raise funds for children with movement disorders and complex disabilities.

For Kevin, this challenge is deeply personal.

His son Rory was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when he was around 18 months old. Rory is unable to walk independently, but anyone who knows him will tell you that has never stopped him. His determination, resilience and positivity continue to inspire everyone around him.

“That’s never stopped him though,” says Kevin. “He is so determined and we are so proud of him.”

Over the years, Rory has attended numerous therapy sessions at our Centre in Muswell Hill, North London. Through specialist support and encouragement from the team, he has developed not only physical skills but also the confidence and self-belief to keep striving towards his goals.

“Part of his confidence and drive comes from his numerous sessions with the amazing team at CPotential.”

Now Kevin is hoping to give something back.

On 11th July, he will cycle from London to Brighton to raise vital funds that will help CPotential continue providing life-changing therapy and support for children like Rory and their families.

While the challenge may sound straightforward to seasoned cyclists, Kevin is the first to admit he’s starting from humble beginnings.

“I’ve just bought my first road bike. On my maiden outing, I managed 17 miles but nearly gave up after 11 with back pain and general knackeredness!”

The good news is that determination clearly runs in the family.
