Meet Paula! Our new OT
Welcoming Paula Godfrey to our vibrant therapy team.
On the 23rd March, Paula will be launching our brand new Occupational Therapy and Sensory Integration Service.
Occuaptional Therapy and Sensory Integration help children develop functional skills needed for everyday activities. It improves a child’s awareness, engagement and ability to play and learn, boosting self-esteem, confidence and independence.
Chris Smith, Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist said “after months of planning, I’m so excited to introduce Paula and to launch our sensory integration service. This occupational therapy led service will further enhance what we can offer and represents another string to our bow in providing holistic therapy.”
Paula qualified as an Occupational Therapist (OT) in 2000 and has gained extensive experience of working with children and families and developing services in the NHS, across education and the charity sector.
Paula feels passionate about supporting children’s participation in activities and routines that they need and want to do, like getting dressed, feeding, learning at school and playing with peers.
Since qualifying, Paula has gained several postgraduate qualifications that have enabled her to help children reach their potential. This includes qualifying as a Sensory Integration (SI) practitioner – offering this specialism directly for children with sensory processing difficulties, as well as working with parents and schools and setting up a sensory-based service within the NHS.
When asked about joining CPotential, Paula said, “I am really excited to be joining a likeminded team and I’m looking forward to offering an affordable and accessible service that reflects the charity’s values and ethos – of the whole family being supported to enable children to reach their potential and beyond!”.
Catch Paula for a live Q&A on Facebook – 7pm Wednesday 17th February. She’ll be happy to answer any questions in real-time. Click here for the event info.
