We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new *Nurturing Notes* Music Therapy group, specifically designed for families with babies who have spent time in neonatal intensive care units (NICU). Whether your little one was born prematurely, faced complications, or had a low birth weight, this group offers a special space for you and your baby to connect, heal, and thrive together.
At Nurturing Notes, we understand the unique challenges of the NICU journey and are here to support your family every step of the way.
What to Expect:
Our programme is led by experienced and certified music therapists specialising in early intervention and neonatal care. These sessions foster a warm and supportive environment where you and your baby can feel safe, understood, and connected.
Who is it for?
- NICU graduates of all backgrounds and stages
- Parents looking to connect with others who have had similar experiences
- Families who want to nurture their baby’s developmental milestones in a creative and meaningful way.
Why Music Therapy?
Music therapy is a proven method for supporting infants’ emotional, cognitive, and physical development, especially in the early stages of life. For NICU graduates, the benefits of music therapy are profound, offering:
- Sensory stimulation: Gentle singing and active listening help soothe and engage babies, offering a comforting sensory experience
- Parental bonding: Music empowers parents to confidently connect with their babies through rhythm, melody, and song, fostering deep emotional bonds
- Developmental support: Each session is tailored to your baby’s individual needs, helping them reach developmental milestones in a gentle and supportive way.
Our Group Aims:
- Fostering Connections: Our sessions bring together parents who understand the NICU experience, creating a community of shared support
- Encouraging Bonding: Through music, parents and babies engage in playful and nurturing activities that strengthen their connection
- Promoting Development: Music therapy encourages early sensory, motor, and emotional development in a natural and enjoyable way.
