How It Works:
-

Choose Your Time: Complete the marathon at a time that works for you — whether in one day or spread out over several weeks.
- Choose Your Place: Run, jog, or walk the 26.2 miles anywhere: around your local park, through city streets, at the gym on a treadmill, or even on a trail. You could even cycle, swim or skateboard!
- Start Moving and Track Your Progress: Use a fitness tracker, or app, or manually log your miles in a notebook or spreadsheet. You can complete the marathon in as many sessions as you like.
- Share Your Journey: Document your progress on social media using the hashtag #CPotentialVirtualMarathon to engage supporters, motivate others, and share why you’re participating.
- Register and Fundraise for CPotential: We ask for a £20 registration fee, then raise what you can! Every pound supports CPotential in providing vital therapy and support for children with cerebral palsy and other movement disorders.
Flexible Marathon Options:
- One-Day Marathon: Challenge yourself to complete all 26.2 miles in one go, either outdoors or on a treadmill at the gym.
- Break It Up: Spread the distance over several days or weeks, doing a few miles at a time.
- Run, Walk, Cycle or Mix: Whether you’re a seasoned runner or prefer to take it slow, the format is entirely up to you. Walk some, run some, cycle some or mix it up depending on your fitness level or schedule.

Fundraising Tips:
- Personal Storytelling: Share why you’re participating and why CPotential’s mission resonates with you. People are more likely to donate when they feel personally connected to your cause.
- Set a Fundraising Target: Supporters love to see how their donation is helping towards the end goal, so add a realistic target amount to your fundraising page.
- Leverage Social Media: Use Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X or TikTok to share regular updates, selfies, and stories about your journey. Always include a link to your fundraising page.
- Offer Dedications: Dedicate certain miles to friends, family members, or donors who have supported you. You could even livestream part of your run to engage supporters in real-time.
- Collaborate with Others: Get your friends or family involved virtually or as a team to help raise even more funds together.
- Matched Donations: Ask a friend, family member, or your workplace to match a certain donation amount. Many businesses will offer this option to their employees too, so it’s worth an ask!
