The only way is Essex

Our wonderful Chair of Trustees, John Martin (above second left), is sadly stepping down from this role at the end of 2018 but before he does… he’s leading another of his famous fundraising cycle rides for us on Saturday 6 October 2018.

And this year’s route will take in some beautiful countryside as it wends 35 miles from Cheshunt along the Lee Navigation Canal and the River Stort in Essex – mainly along towpaths and with no hills.

“Moreover,” says John, “the ride coincides with World Cerebral Palsy Day, a special day for CPotential as we support children with movement disorders due to conditions such as cerebral palsy to achieve their potential.”

John is an old hand at fundraising bike challenges, having previously pedalled across Holland, Germany, Hungary and Denmark for us.

He says, “I’d love as many people as possible to join me so please get in touch so we can make a real showing on the day as Team CPotential. Last year’s ride along the Grand Union Canal raised £12,000 – let’s see if we can exceed that.”

There’s a small fee of £15 to take part, which covers the cost of a T-shirt, but there’s no minimum amount of sponsorship required.

Check out all the details now.
