We’re absolutely delighted to congratulate CPotential Trustee Kevin Clark, who completed the London to Brighton cycle ride on 11th July and has raised an incredible £3,960 for CPotential!
Kevin took on the challenge to raise vital funds for children with movement disorders, inspired by his son Rory and the support he has received from the CPotential team.
And he didn’t have to tackle the 54-mile ride alone. Kevin was joined by two good friends, who cycled alongside him and provided some much-needed encouragement and moral support along the way.
Riding for Rory
Kevin’s motivation for taking on the challenge was deeply personal.
His son, Rory, was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at around 18 months old and is unable to walk independently. But that has never stopped Rory from pushing himself. His determination, confidence and positivity continue to inspire everyone around him.
Rory has attended numerous therapy sessions with the amazing team at CPotential in Muswell Hill, and Kevin has seen first-hand the difference that specialist therapy and support can make.
“Part of his confidence and drive comes from his numerous sessions with the amazing team at CPotential,” says Kevin.
So, Kevin decided it was time to give something back – by taking on a challenge of his own.
From first ride to Brighton
There was just one small problem: Kevin was a complete newcomer to road cycling!
After buying his first road bike, his maiden outing was a 17-mile ride. He almost gave up after 11 miles with back pain and general exhaustion.
But inspired by Rory’s determination, Kevin kept going.
With training, plenty of perseverance and the support of his two friends, he made it to the start line – and on 11th July, the three set off from London towards Brighton.
And they made it! 🚴♂️🚴♂️🚴♂️
A whopping £3,960 raised!
Kevin’s fundraising has been phenomenal. Thanks to the generosity of everyone who donated and supported his challenge, he has now raised a whopping £3,960 for CPotential.
This fantastic total will help us continue providing specialist therapy and support to children and young people with movement disorders, helping them build skills, confidence and independence.
